Fully bonded

The basic idea of the ELIPS pre-insulated pipe system is that the service pipe, PUR insulation and outer casing pipe are all bonded together as one single unit. This makes each pipe length exceptionally strong and robust. It is designed to withstand the effects of thermal stresses as well as soil friction.

Minimal expansion

Thermal shear forces are taken up by the sandwich construction. Soil friction restricts expansion to such an extent that special measures to deal with it are completely unnecessary. This low expansion, combined with soil elasticity and the high compression strength of the PUR insulation, eliminate any need for anchors, compensators and expansion loops. Combined with the exceptional relaibility of the ELIPS field joints connecting the pipe lengths, this ensures that a ELIPS distirct cooling pipe system remains waterproof throughout its service life.
